An advocate to empower youth to strengthen their community.

The Sault Youth Association (SYA) is an independent Not-for-Profit organization dedicated to connecting the needs of the youth in our city with all community partners and regional, provincial and federal government representatives.

SYA looks forward to continuing our momentum on building a youth – orientated social community by engaging youth and all youth driven organizations to foster positive growth and change.

Our projects are multiple and include:
Buskerfest
The Fresh Magazine
Youth Advisory Committee
Youth Friendly Community Designation

Youth Advisory Committee: a coordinated group of young people aged 13-25 who act as “advisors” to SYA and direct the activities and projects of SYA to ensure the youth voice is consistently heard. Sault Ste. Marie has received this designation by the Ontario Partnership for Active Youth.
